









Antique diamond cluster ring yellow gold and platinum
DESCRIPTION
This ring is most likely from the Late Victorian era due to the fact it is all diamond. Late in the 1800's is when diamonds became more abundant because of England's reign over South Africa. It was probably an engagement ring. The beaded treatment on the bezels holding the stones is typical of this period.
The shank and undercarriage are both 18kt yellow gold white the top is in platinum. The combined used of these precious metals was prevalent during this time period. The floral cluster is set with Old European cut as well as round brilliant cut diamonds. The modern cut diamonds were most likely replacements for lost stones.
